Words of Wisdom from a SciFi Master.

I'm currently re-reading Robert A Heinlein's SciFi classic "Starship Troopers" and I'm amazed by Heinlein's insight into the direction this country was taking and what the end consequences may be.  "Starship Troopers" was originally published in 1959 and is still highly popular today.  There is a quote I'd like to point out for those who have never read  this book and for those who have and glossed over the political and psychological/social aspects of the book.

"      "This very personal relationship, 'value,' has two factors for a human being: first, what he can do with a thing, its use to him . . . and second, what he must do to get it, its cost to him.  There is an old song which asserts 'the best things in life are free.'  Not true! Utterly false!  This was the tragic fallacy which brought on the decadence and collapse of the democracies of the twentieth century; those noble experiments failed because the people had been led to believe that they could simply vote for whatever they wanted . . . and get it, without toil, without sweat, without tears.
"Nothing of value is free.  Even the breath of life is purchased at birth only through gasping effort and pain."... "

This excerpt is taken from Chapter Six of the book during which the main character recalls a lecture given to him during a class called History and Moral Philosophy.  This excerpt comes after the teacher completely shatters the concepts of communism and socialism.  Isn't it interesting that a SciFi book written in 1959 can fortell the downfall of western democracy

Heinlein warns of people becoming to dependent on governemnt.  He also warns of the effects of the lack of effective corporal punishment in society.  In Heinlein's future the Terran Federation meets out punishments that fit the crime in a very public manner; lashing.  He speaks of law abiding citizens being affraid to enter public parks after dark for fear of being attacked by gangs in the Twentieth Century... that was in the realtively ordered late 1950's.  Fourty-nine years later, how far off are we from Heinlein's predicted outcome of people not being able to enter parks after dark for fear of violent attacks?

Americans have just elected a very liberal, very unexperienced junior Senator from one of the most politically corrupt areas of the country.  He achieved this by hiding his liberal agenda behind a mask of pseudo-conservatism and managed to convince many that they could get many things for free just by voting for it.  Free healthcare.... vote for Barack and you got it, of course someone else must actually pay for it.  Free money...  vote for Barack "Robin Hood" Obama and he will steal from the rich (those who make over $250,000) and give to the poor (95% of working Americans, most of which pay little to no taxes to begin with).  Vote for Barack and get it all free; without toil, without sweat, with out tears....

2012

Lets take a look into our conservative crystal ball and see who we can expect to see running in the Republican Primaries in 2012.

Sarah Palin;  Even after running as JMacs running mate in this years election I think we'll see Sarah again in 2012.  She might not be Governor Palin then though, she might be Congresswoman Palin or Senator Palin.  If she wanted two che could run for Senate in the 2010 midterm election...  After further consolidating her hold on the conservative reigns she might just lcok down the nomination in 2012.

Bobby Jendal;  The very successful Lousianna governor stands just as good a chance in 2012 as anyone else.  He is popular, charismatic, young, and well spoken.  I think that next to Sarah Palin  Bobby J has one of the best chances in 2012 of getting the Republican nod.

Mitt Romney:  We saw Mitt do a very good job in the Primaries and I for one would love to see him again in 2012.  As a very successful businessman Mitt ran several Fortune 500 companies and almost single handedly saves the Olympics.  If anyone is weel prepared to run this government the way it should be run (fiscally speaking) its Mitt.  I wish him the best in 2012 as he was my pick in the primaires, but it may be hard to compete with Palin and Jendal.

Huckabee, Juliani, and the rest:  We havent seen the last of these guys.  I'm sure they'll be back in 2012...

One last 2012 prediction:  Barack will have to run for his parties nomination in 2012.  After three years of his brand of polotics and a major Dem. loss in 2010 the Democrat party might be looking for a new contender for the Oval Office.  Expect the likes of Hialry Clinton and others to start vehemently attacking Barack after any infetismal mistake in office....

You might not hear the likes of Rush or Hannity talking about this any time soon, but I'm sure by 2011 they'll be talking about the possibilities...

The Youth Vote and the Election

I keep hearing about the youth vote.  I am the youth vote.  I, on the other hand, am not your typical youth in this nation.  I was raised to have certain values and morals and I have done my best to hold on to these moral and values.  I'm no saint, that's for sure.  I'm also not the best conservative in the world...  I think we need to legalize marijuana; it would be a massive source of revenue for the government and its legalization would reduce crime and hard drug use (cocaine, heroine, etc.).  I think we need to legalize prostitution; you can't legislate morality and you can't stop the world's oldest profession, plus it would cut back on the number of STDs contracted.  I also believe that even if the pro-lifers manage to over turn Roe v. Wade that abortions will still occur, states could then pass legislation that would replace Roe v. Wade, which is how it should be anyway... But, I digress.

Why did Barack win the youth vote?  There are several reasons.

1.  Liberal universities, colleges, and schools.  Students who were raised by conservative families can spend up to 17 years in classrooms being indoctrinated by liberal teachers and professors.  This is more likely to happen at the university/college level, but there are plenty of liberal elementary, middle, and high school teachers.  In universities across the nation the "youth" are encouraged to go out and make their own paths, to throw off what they have been taught their whole life and decide what their values and principals are, to become independent of their parents and grandparents belief system.  Some are able to keep their conservative viewpoint, but many succumb to peer pressure.  Having been taught thier whole lives to respect their elders and to listne to their advice these impressionalbe youth are easy targets for thier liberal professors and classmates.

2.  Our "American Idol" society.  Obessed with pop culture icons, the youth of this nation are easily influeneced by the "star power" of a candidate.  This election was turned in "So you think you can govern" by the MSM and the liberal blogoshpere.  Sarah Palin's RNC sponsored shopping spree and pregnant teen became more important election issues than Barac Obama's questionable associations with anit-semites and terrorists.  John McCain's lack of computer savy was more imortant than Barack lack of political savy.  And while Obama wanted to get back to the "real issues" the MSM and the liberal blogosphere made sure that the issues of how how many home Cind McCain owns and Sarah Palin's abilities as a huntress were well known.

These are just two of the reasons that the "youth" vote went for Barack.  A majority of the youth vote maybe, but not all of us "youth" are so illinformed and easily swayed in our opinions and values.  A few words of wisdom for older conservatives and politicians; dont water down the conservative message and dont stop telling the "youth" what that message means for them.  I think that us conservative need to start campaigning for 2010 and 2012 right now.  Lets do our best to encourage a "new" generation of conservatives to do their part in making this country great once again.

Obamanation's First Term.... There wont be a second.

Let's take a look at what Barack's first, and only, term of President will be like....

Baracks politics of change.... yeah right.  He selected Ron Emmanuele for Chief of Staff. Thats change we can all beleive in right?  Change to what, another Clinton?  If he really wanted to change things, why not some new faces?

Under the guise of "tax cuts" for "the poor" Barack will raise taxes.  "But he said he would cut taxes..."  Yeah, he said that when he was trying to get your vote, and after he did he said that "We're all gonna have to make sacrifices..."  You heard the man.  By either raising taxes outright or by letting the Bush Tax Cuts sunset Barack, and the other Democraps will raise EVERYONE'S taxes.  And please, dont say that he said that it wasnt raising taxes... what he said was "It will be like going back to tax rates under President Clinton."  That my friends is a tax increase, not a tax cut.  But, people view the Clinton years as one of the greatest periods of economic security, and therefore Clinton tax levels are a good thing.....  Bush tax levels are even lower on almost ever socio-economic group, but I guess that isn't good enough for some of us.  Oh, by the way, how exactly does one cut taxes for someone who doesnt really pay taxes?  Does that make sense to anyone?  If it does, please stop drinking the kool-aid, its bad for you and creates a negative sterotype....  What this "tax cut" really ammounts to is another government hand out, aka WELFARE.

Do you like conservative talk radio?  You might want to get in as much of it as you can....  Baracks's appointee to the FCC will most likely team up with the other Democraps on the board to inforce the Fairness Doctrine, which is "supposed" to give equal time to opposing political view points.  Of course we wont see "equality" in the MSM, and any we do will not be truly equal.  It is conservative talk radio that we have to worry about and the internet and sites just like Townhall.com.  Hopefully if the unFairness Doctrine gets passed then they will have to take everything as a whole, not individual shows and websites.  If not then at least HuffingtonPost will have to let some real conservatives post articles, not neocon solialist freaks like the ones on the staff...  And maybe if elRushbo is kicked off the air he'll go to XM and gve all of his regualr listeners a free subscription...

Barack will surpass Hitler as the man responsible for the most deaths. "How?"  By passing the Freedom of Choice Act wich will surpass Roe v Wade as the national defenition of a legal abortion.  The Freedom of Choice Act will completely undo all of the hard work done by the pro-life movement.  It will make it unconstitutional for states to pass laws that deny a "woman's right to choose".  It will end bans on partial birth abortions and overturn abortion limits across the board.  Abortions will not be "legal, safe, and rare."  They will be common and still as dangerous as ever, all they will be is LEGAL.

Affirmative action...  Many think that this is now a deunked theory because we elected Barack, a black man, to the office of President of the United States.... if only that were true.  While listening to one of my favorite talk shows today I heard a comment from the host's assistant or engineer or whatever (a black man, BTW) say that it isnt over because Barack is half white.  This will be the argument from now on.  You should all be prepared to have to defend yourselves if you say something like "afirmative action is pointles now because we have a black giuy in the white house."  You'll get an answer like "He's not black, he's half black.  His white half is what got him elected."  one of my co-workers, a young black male said that Barack wasn't black, "he's a mutt."  Under Barack affirmative action will probably get worse.

National security.... The Kenyans already EXPECT a lot out of their brother Barack.  LOL.  Joe the VP stated that a generated international crisis will occur within 6 months of Barack taking office and the President of Afghanistan has laready said that he hopes President Obabma will help put and end to civilian casualties in Afghanistan...  Barack will jerk US troops out of Iraw so fast it'll make the camels' heads spin and then its a sitting duck.  If the Iranians try to invade again the Iraqis wont be able to stop them.  Then we have an even larger enemy to deal with, after all, iran "is only a tiny country" unless it makes territorial aquisitions such as Iraq, which pust it a lot, lot close the Saudia Arabia......   If Russia goes crazy and invades another country what do you think Barack's gonna do?  Stand up to them the way a Ronald Reegan would? no, hell probably just tell both sides to calm down.

All in all Barack is going to devestate this country.  i dont have the time to get into the economic problems he wil lcause if he lives up to half his campaign promises or go more in depth into certain other things, but hes going to go down as the worst president in history.... He's gonna make Bush look like JFK...

The NEW US

A change is coming.  It is inevitable.  Our founding fathers knew that eventually the government would fail.  I can see the coming Revolution, no matter who wins the election.  I have a few changes I would like to suggest.

1) A new Bill of Rights
   1. This government shall pass no laws governing the freedom of speech, religion, or the press.  No laws shall be passed controlling the    content of any medium of expression.

  2.  This government shall pass no laws restricting the ownership of firearms which are attained in their states legally proscribed manner.

  3.  This government shall pass no laws which discriminate based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or which show a preference based on any of the afore mentioned factors.

  4.  This government will pass no laws which govern the right of a woman to choose, leaving such decisions up to the individual states.

I think we also need a Bill of Non-rights

  1.  You do not have the right to vote; it is a privilege reserved for law abiding citizens who are age 18 or older and who are capable of passing a competency test to be administered when one registers to vote.  This test shall be made to verify that voters are intelligent enough to make an informed decision when electing officials to public office.  This test shall not be designed to exclude any peoples from the voting process except those who are incapable of passing the test not due to any disability.  (After all, stupidity should not only hurt, it should be discouraged and frowned upon)

2.  You do not have the right to health care.  This does not mean that you do not have the right to seek medical treatment, just that it should not be everyone elses responsibility to provide it for you.  Those who can not or will not seek self provided health insurance can apply for governemnt aid to assist in paying medical bills, but the applicant must be able to prove that they were comletely unable to purchase insurance and did not bring the illness upon themsleves.  (If you have no insurance and have unportected sex, we will not help you if you get aids.  If you eat nothing but McDonald's all day every day and you get diabetes you are screwed, shoulda spent some of that money on insurance instead of hot apple pies.)

3.  You do not have the right to own a home.  You do have the right to work hard, save your money and manage your finances in such a way the you can afford a home.  Banks shall not make loans to borrowers who do not meet thier credit requirements and this government will not pass anylaws requireing them to do so.

4.  "There is no such thing as a free lunch."  Welfare shall no longer be a "free lunch."  All recipients of welfare shall be required to seek gainful employment.  Welfare benefits will last no longer than three years.  All recipinets of welfare shall be required to repay the federal government the costs of thier welfare benefits at a 0.5% interest rate with payments starting two years after the benefits period ends.

I'd also like to see the US Government legalize marijuana.  I know, a conservative that supports legalization/decriminalization of marijuana.. odd, but that's me.  If we were to leagalize it and tax it along the same lines as tabacco it would be a huge source of revenue for the federal government.

We NEED the fair Tax... no doubt about it.  Hey, Barack, you wanna level the playing field and make sure that everyone is paying thier "fair" share... then why dont you support the fair tax you Socialist f^%k?

My $0.02 for now... more to come.

Just a few more days until...

Until we find out (at least temporarily, because the results wont be final for some time) who our next president is.  Some liberals have promised that if Barack loses it will jump start the next Civil War.... That's amusing, especially coming from some Hollywood Liberal Elitist.  I thought they were all anti-war?

The La Times supposedly has a tape of Barack toasting a terrorist... and the left points out that a McCain backed foundation may have given the same terrorist money... to build appartments in the Gaza Strip or something like that...  What happened to "no guilt by assocaition"?  Barack isn't guilty for anything just because Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, and Rev Wright are...  Such hippocrasy is dishartning.

I just dont get it.  It's almost enough to drive a guy crazy...  I'll be so glad when the electon results start coming in on Tuesday....

about the Confederate States of America.

I was born and raised in the south, and I was taught to embrace my Southern Heritage.  Let's be honest, talk of the old Confederacy will usually get one branded a racist.  But, there are also a few relative factors that must be considered when discussing pre-Civil War America.

!)   Both the North and the South had slaves.
2)  Most of the industry in the nation at that time was located in the North, most agriculture in the South.
3)  The north pretty much "ran" the country; it had more control of the Congress and Senate.

Now, let's take a look at the causes of the Civil War.

Most people think that slavery was the main cause of the Civil War.  That is untrue, slavery was the emotional issue that drove the war for both North and South.  The real causes were: the inequities between Northern and Southern industry; trade restrictions and tax burdens forced on the South to "punish" them for the use of slave labor; and the basic disagreement between North and South over slavery, more  the point of which type of slavery (the effect of this has always been  exaggerated on to try and present the Northern case in a more favorable light).  When it comes right down to it the same reasons that caused the American Revolutionary War caused the Civil War (taxation without representation.)

Many people believe that Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents of all time.  I, on the hand, have always thought that he was one of the worst presidents ever and certainly the most unconstitutional.  The reason I say this is because of an often over looked fact; any state may at any time secede from the union ("Done in convention by the unanimous consent of the states present.." and therefore any state can withdraw its consent to be governed by the Constitution and therefore by the US Government)  So, Lincoln had no right to force the Confederate Sates to repatriate.  Some argue that the Confederate  States crossed the line when they began the bombing of Fort Sumter, but as an independent nation (which was recognized by the British) the CSA had a right to demand that the USA withdraw it's solders from Fort Sumter and therefore, in my honest opinion, had every right to begin bombardment of that facility when their demand was not met.

And so, now we begin the socnd part of the argument over why it was a good thing the USA won the Civil War: that at least it got rid of slavery.  Slavery was begining to die out of its own accord.  The invention of the Cotton Gin has always been heralded as the event which escalated the use of slave labor in the cotton industry.  What it actually heralded was the eventual collapse of the slave labor system.  The Cotton Gin was the first of many mechanical farm implements that would have eventually made slavery a non-cost effecient system of agriculture.  Things such as mechanicale combines and harvesters would have eventually led to more and more plantation owners completely doing away with slave labor.  A piece of equipment is much more cost effecient over a long period of time when compared with the amount of physical labor costs it replaces.  Example: if it took twenty slaves to harvest a days worth of cotton and a machine could match that smae quota in the same amount of time the machine is more cost effecient: you do not have to feed, cloth and hosue a machine.  Eventually every slave would have been freed in the south.  Furthermore, most of them would have become a skilled labor class, having been the ones most likely to operate and maintain early farm implements.

Imagine how much idfferently things would have progresed in the South had the issue of slavery been handled in a timely matter.  I dont think we would have had the ammount of racial tension that existed during the Civil Rights Movement and that blacks in the south would probably have been quicker to gain rights had the CSA still been a soverign nation....

Barack the Builder

It came to me last night....  ACORN is registering 2nd graders because they admire Barack.  Why do 2nd graders admire Barack?  Because he stole Bob The Builder's catch phrase.  "Can we build it?  Yes We Can" became "Can we change it?  Yes we can." then just "Yes We Can". Of course 2nd graders, and others of similar intelligence levels, admire Barack, he appeals to their basic instinct to admire one who mindelssly repeats empty catch phrases that can be easily repeated.  Barack has extended his cadre of catch phrases.  "I'm going to lower taxes for 95% of Americans"  and "JMac wants to cut medicare" are some of them, but lets not forget the most important "I think when you spread the wealth arround it's good for everyone."  Ask a Barack supporter why he is supporting Barack and they will say its because he wants "Hope" and "Change" and "At least he's not Bush."  Ask a McCain supporter why they support McCain and you will hear various answers.  Ask why they dont support Barack and you will hear that he is "unexpereince" or "will ruin the economy" or becasue he "wants to spread the wealth arround" quickly followed by, if they are white, and explination that it's not because he's black and that that has nothing to do with it.

Colin Powell can't even say that he is supporting Barack because of race, but yet the libs are making attacks daily that it is the "racists rednecks who cling to guna and religion" who will cost Barack the election.  Yay, lets play the race card. Again and again and again...  That's just great isn't it?  A black man can't say that his true reason for supporting another black man is because he is black, but it is ok to say over and over again that "they are gonna try to make you affraid of me, because I have a funny name and I don't look like the other guys on the currency."

Barack the Builder.  Building class envy and racial discorse for political purposes.  I don't think Nick Jr would play that one, I don't even think PBS would show that one.....

about The Socialist Democratsand their plans.

I can just imagine what must have been being said in Democrat strategy meetings, "I've got an idea; let's work with groups like ACORN and Fannie Mae to make banks hand out sub prime loans like lollipops, that will eventually cause the home credit markets to collapse which will ripple all the way through Wall Street.  Then we will promise the American people to lower their taxes, well most of them anyway, and give them all free health care.  Then as things get worse and worse they will have to rely on the government more and more.  Eventually, they will have no choice but to turn to us for their every need."

Yeah, thats a great plan, if your name is Joseph Stalin or Karl Marx.  And I'm sure most of us have heard about Hawaii by now...  For those who haven't 7 months after initiating their statewide child health insurance program the state has had to kill the program.  Why?  Because parents who were buying health coverage for their kids dropped them so that they qualified for the state program.  Strange, people not paying for something when they can get it for free, never saw that coming...  I bet the MSM wont be covering that story.

Last week in Ohio Barack Hussein Obama unwittingly unleahsed the Socialist Democrats plan while speaking with "Joe the plumber."  I know some plumbers and lets face it, some of the aint the smartest guys on the planet, but hell even Joe saw Barack and the Dems' plan for what it was: SOCIALISIM.  "..I think that when you spread the wealth arroung, it's goos for everyone."  Thats what BHO said to Joe after joe asked him about his "middle class tax releif plan".  He gets it, but another person I know (who happens to have a PolySci degree) doesn't, in fact he loves socailist programs and thinks more things need to be socialized...  Makes me sick to my stomach.

I don't make $250,000 a year, but I don't think it's fair to take even more from these people.  I dont think it's fair how much the IRS takes from me, and I get back half of what they take every tax season... I can't imagine what it must be like to have them take an even greater ammount and not get a good schunk of that back every year.  What I do think is fair is the Fair Tax.   I know some people who have argued against it because "if you pass an amendment that oveturns the federal income tax you also affect stae income taxes" or "a federal consumption tax just doesn't seem fair, and what to stop the government from upping the tax rate".  These are both valid concerns, but not valid arguments against the Fair Tax.  States have the right to set their own taxes, which they all do.  And the thing that will keep the government from raising this tax rate will be the fact that the government will see increased tax revenue from the Fair Tax... but I digress.

Where was I going with all this?  I don't even know anymore....  Oh yeah.  Barack = Socaialism

Economic 101 vs Socialism

I had someone tell me earlier tonight that they think that all necessities should be socialized: electric, water, health care, etc.  The scarier part is that this person doesn't care how much of their money goes to the government in taxes as long as it helps someone because "there are people who can not or will not help themselves..."  For another American to say that to me is deeply disturbing, this is supposed to be the land of opportunity where anyone who is willing to work can be successful.  Even after I said that socialism doesn't work on  a large scale, which has been proven time and time again (think the USSR and China before the realized that they needed some capitalism to make the system work) this person said that it was because of... survey says GREED!

I'm sorry, but greed is not always bad.  Greed drives business, greed is the basis for competition, because lets face it, when it comes to business the scoreboard doesn't record touchdowns and PAT's it records profits and profit margins.  If I had had $50,000 to invest in any company during the second fiscal quater I would have bought stock in Wal-Mart before I would Exxon-Mobile.  Why?  Because, Wal-Mart may have had a lower quaterly profit, but they had a much larger profit margin and therefore a much better chance a business longevity... But I digress.

Let's take a look at Barack's tax plans one more time (lets also keep in mind that I am a college drop out and when I was going it was for Film, not business, not polysci)  BHO plans to increase corporate taxes, increase SSI taxes, increase the death tax, capital gains (except for small businesses), "cut" taxes for 95% of Americans, raise taxes for those making over $250,000, and "renegotiate NAFTA and other trade agreements.

Who pays coporate taxes?  A) Corporations.  B) Consumers. C) The Tax Fairy.  The answer is B, Consumers.  How?  Corportaions pass these taxes on to consumers through price increases.  But what if people stop buying their products or using their services?  Then these companies layoff or fire employees to help keep their costs lower and offset the corporate tax rates.  Which country has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world?  The United States.

Social Security Insurance was origionaly started as a way to get older citizens to reitre earlier and let younger workers become part of the work force.  The system started in a deficit; an entire generation of people who had never contribted to the system were now drawing from it.  Several economist and other analysts have predicted that anyone currently undr the age of 35 will not be able to draw SSI benefits when they are of retirment age.  People are living longer and therefore drawing SSI longer and a system that started in the negative will soon be bankrupt..

How exactly does one cut taxes for people who dont pay taxes to begin with?  Thats not a tax cut, thats a welfare check.  And raising taxes on the top 5% of earners is "fair" its "patriotic" that's bull malarkey.  The top 5% of earners shoulder 70% of the tax burden and now they (the liberals) expect them to take on more. How is that fiar?  They earned that money.  They are the ones who worked for that money.  Why should others get some of thier hard earned money for doing nothing?  These are the people who own small businesses.  Small businesses employ 70% of Americans....  Most small business owners report their comapny's profit as personal income.  What happens if their taxes go up?  They cut jobs.

The net effect of all these things is that unemployment will be higher, tax revenues will be lower and the economy will go from recession to depression.  Can we risk four moe years of a bad economy?  No.  So, if we cant afford four more years, who should we vote for? "Bush 3" as the liberals call JMac or Barack who will make Bush look like Regan or Clinton?  I'm not going to tell you how to vote, that's up to you as an individual to do what you think is right.  I will say that after the election, one way or the other some of us will regret our decsion... I don't think i'll be the least be regretful and i hope others dont have to regret their choice....

about the debate.

I'm going to try and write this as I watch.

Barack just said, "The fundamentals of this economy were weak before this crisis..."  Let's break this down.  We live in a free market, capatalist economy.  The fundamentals of this economy are that the markets self regulate and prices are controlled by supply and demand.  What Barack just said was that the fundamentals of free markets and capitalism are weak...  And JMac just called him out on his "spread the wealth around" statement.   Barack just said that he wants to cut subisdies to insurance companies that just happen to deal with medicare... Barack wants to cut medicare... is that going to far.  Those insurance company subisdies are paid to help the insurance comapnies abosrb the costs that are associated with medicaid and medicare.

JMac on the attack.... I'm loving it.  And all Barack can say is "four more years of Bush, four more years of failed economic policies..."

How are "wages declining" when the Federal Minimum Wage has been increased?  Obama is lying about ACORN again... go figure.

Barack and McCain are going on and on about foreign trade.  Barack just made a point about how many S Korean cars are coming in to the US and how many we export to them... hey Barack dont you know that most of those cars are only half built and therefore create American jobs... Hyundai was like the only company that really weathered Katrina properly...  Barack just said something about "workers organizing for their rights" this from the man that doesn't support secret ballots in unions.....

Healthcare... Obama seems flustered... JMac is STILL calling him out on the fine under Obama's plan associated with not providing health coverage to workers and children...  "Senator government.. i mean Senator Obama"  it's a flub but I like it...  There's a choice Barack... Big Brother vs Freedom... not hard for me to choose.

Roe v Wade... I hope JMac calls out Barack on BAIPA...  He did it, OMg he really did it.  And now Barack is going to obfuscate... again.  Now he's saying that it would have undermined Roe v Wade... oh my god.

Education.... JMac wants reform... Barack wants to throw money at it...

One of the pundits just said that Barack seemed "unflappable" he seemed flustered at times and to quick to respond.  I like what JMac said about Ayers "I dont care about some washed up old terrorist."  Notice what Barack responded to the strongest, Ayers, ACORN, his policies and his records...  My personal opinon is that Barack lost and lost big, he may have seemed "presidential" to some, he seemed flustered and at one or two points angery at McCain for bringing up certain issues.  I'm glad McCain was on the attack tonight and I hope that others see this the way I did and dont let the spin dominate their opinion.

about liberals (again).

First off I just want to point out the new tittle format.  The old one worked, but i believe this is better.

As I have said before, my boss is a liberal.  I like to talk politics with him not to try and change his mind, but to gain some insight into how liberals think.  It's amazing.  He believes that Trickle-down Economics works, but thinks that it is only fair for those who make the most to pay the most taxes and thinks, like Barack, that they should pay more.  He thinks the gas crisis was a blessing in disguise because it will foster growth in alternative energy technologies, which will not be readily available for years, but doesn't see the necessity to tap our own natural resources in the mean time.  When the US Congress started talking about letting oil companies drill the price of gas fell...  Why?  Because the threat of the US tapping its own supply scared OPEC and Big Oil enough so that gas prices fell.  After the storms in the Gulf Coast gas prices rose due to the fact that refineries were shut down and damaged and a major pipeline was damaged.  now gas prices are once again on the drop, this time not due to the US's threats fo drilling but due to the global decline in the economy.... but I digress.

I like my boss, he's a nice guy.  I just can not understand how he thinks when it comes to politics.  He abhors abortion, yet is willing to cast a vote for a man who supports it in it's most extreme forms.  He has said that he doesn't care if Bill Clinton had an affair with an intern and then lied about it under oath because Clinton "got the job done."  So, when it comes right down to it all he really cares about is that the Democrats are in power, no matter what they really intend to do with this country.  Its scary to think that there are people out there who only care that the Dems. are in power.  What's scarrier is that my boss told me that he used to be a Republican... until he went to college...

Hey Mike... he got his degree from UNCW.... big suprise there huh?

I just gotta say this... about race and the election.

I can not believe the things I have been hearing in the news lately.  Actually, I can. I just don't want to.  Sarah Palin accused of encouraging crowds to use "hate speech," liberal media elitists saying she should be censured, and many other saying that "if Barack Hussein Obama loses this election it will be because of racism in America."

Now, far be it for me, a Southern Conservative, to say this, but aren't comments like that inherently racist?  Just follow my line of thought for a minute;  people are saying bad things about Barack at campaign rallies... and it's the GOP race baiting when no one has said anything even close to a racial epithat?  A black liberal woman says that Palin needs to be censured... for what exactly?  It's not like Palin is out there bropping N-bombs all over the place... like most rappers....  And the biggest racist comment of all; if a black man loses the election to a white man then it is instantly because of racism... not because he wasn't able to beat him in the debates or make an effective argument for himself on the campaign trail, but because of racism... isn't that kinda like saying that your candidate's only qualification is his race and therefore only racism can defeat him?

I just gotta say this... about global warming.

Global warming... climate change...  whatever you want to call it, its a bunch of bull.  I've had this argument with liberals before.  I've made my points numerous times.  But I have to say it again...

First of all, saying that global warming doesn't exist, that climate change doesn't happen is irresponsible.  The Earth warms and cools, this is irrefutable.  But, to say that Man is alone responsible, or responsible at all, for the rise in the Earth's temperatures is just as irresponsible.  To date there have been no studies that prove, irrefutably, that carbon emissions or other greenhouse gas emissions are the sole cause of Earth's rising temperatures.  By the same token science has, of yet, been able to prove that man does not have an impact...

So where does that leave us?  To me it leaves both sides standing at 20 and a draw always goes to the house and the house in this case is mother nature.

Since we can neither prove or disprove the theory of "man made global warming" then we must presume, or at least I must, that global warming is a natural phenomena, which it is.  There are various naturally occurring phenomena that contribute to the Earth warming and cooling, such as sun spot activity, changes in solar winds, fluctuations in the Earth's magnetic field, changes in the Earth's tectonic activity, etc. etc....

But, of course the liberal left would have us all believe that we are all responsible for the increases, and somehow decreases, in the Earth's temperatures.  The question that we must ask ourselves now is;  why is it important for the liberals to make us think we are responsible for "climate change"?

The all important Kyoto Protocol calls for countries to purchase carbon credits or offsets for carbon emissions over a certain level, which is actually higher than our current EPA standards.  The proceeds from these carbon credits or offsets are then used to encourage "green industries" in third world countries....

Now, why should the USA sign the Kyoto Protocol if we already meet or exceed the carbon emission levels which it sets forth?  Maybe, the idea is to get American industries to relax their standards of emission control and exceed the Kyoto levels so that American companies and the American government can then purchase carbon credits and therefore fund "green industry" in other nations...  That sounds like a global scheme for wealth redistribution....

That is the reason why the liberal left wants to make you and I  think that we are killing the polar bears and the planet.  Its all one big socialist scam. As we all know, wealth redistribution is one of the socialist agendas.  Of course, it rarely ever works on a large scale, just ask the Russians and probably the Chinese too.

Now, I know that JMac thinks that global warming is a big issue and that we must do something about that, but I also think that his views on global warming are nothing more than him trying to show that he is "in touch" with today and that he "cares about the planet" so he can get some liberal and moderate voters to back him.  Truth be told when the cameras are off he's probably wondering how far into his first term he can go before he says that global warmin is horse manuer..

I just gotta say this.. about the election. Part two

Four or five quick points that have been played to death... but not by me.  I've been hearing it so much and I just have to vent.

1) The Race Card:  Exactly who is it that has been injecting race into this, well for lack of a better term, race?  The Democrats, most notably Barack Hussein Obama.  "They're gonna try to make you scared... of me.  Because I don't look like the other guys on the one dollar and five dollar bills." or "Hey, he's got a funny name... and did I mention.. he's black."  This is blacksploitation on a level Hollywood never dreamed of when it made "Shaft."  Lets get one thing straight right now; Barack H Obabma is not black, he is half black and half white.  He will not be the "first black president" he will be the first mixed-race president.  And I am so tired of Barack supporters saying that McCain and Palin are "race batting" and that those of us who aren't voting for Barack are racist....

2) Barack's Associtations and friends:  William Ayers, Rev. J Wright, Tony Rezko, Jim Johnson, Frank Raines.  An unrepentant domestic terroritst,  an antisemit, and two crooks walk into a bar.. wait its not a joke, its Obama's freinds, mentores, and economic adivisers....  "But he  didn't know that Ayers bombed places and he was only eight, and he never hear J Wright say those things and you only bring up Raines because he's black..."  Whatever.  I think that if I were running for president I'd make sure that my associations and friends had cleaner backgrounds...  Oh but lets not forget that McCain was indicted in the Keating Five scandle and may have been involved in the Iran-Contra affair....

3) "Four more years of Bush":  This is just nonsense.  McCain has voted party line 90% of the time... Barack 96%....  If there was a sitting Dem. president who was as unpopular as Bush and Obama was extolling "hope" and "change" we would probably have never heard about his opponents voting record...

4) "We need to get out of Iraq":  The idea that we are "losing to many men i n war we should have never been in" is crazy.  We have lost less men in Iraq than we did during the Tet offensive in 'Nam.  This is a volunteer army, not drafted.  That means that these men and women volunteered to serve and knew the risks when they signed up.. when the reenlisted............  But, lets follow Barack's lead and bomb Pakistan, our ally.....

There is more, but it's getting late and I've got a bit of a cold and I'm not feeling very well right now so I think I'm gonna just leave it at these four... for now....
